Fans of PC Gaming and MMOs are likely already familiar with Black Desert Online - one of the best looking MMOs to hit the genre in quite some time - and have been enjoying the game for years now. I was severely addicted to WoW and then ESO so I never jumped in until I had the opportunity to review the recent release of Black Desert (minus the Online) on the Xbox One. I’ve spent a couple of weeks in the game now and I’m ready to give my thoughts on this gorgeous, but sometimes confusing, MMO from Pearl Abyss. advertisement Starting OffLike all MMOs out there you’re going to start off with some character creation and class selection. While the PC version has a plethora of classes to chose from the Xbox is currently limited to six classes, with more promised to be on the way. Classes are gender locked but some classes like the Witch and Wizard have overlapping abilities if you want to play the opposite gender.First entering the game … [Read more...] about Black Desert Xbox One Review in Progress: Gorgeous, Fun, and Overwhelming

Cuisine Royale is a free to play battle royale game that often times feel like parody of the heavy hitters of the genre. Marketed as a free-for-all using kitchen utensils for weapons, the game shares the same formula as conventional battle royale games but does enough to make parts of it interesting. Nude Start After a quick 10GB download, you’ll hop into the main screen and notice that you’re in your underwear. Nothing to worry about as it’s commonplace for games like these to make you work and play to earn better outfits and equipment later on. Having no inventory, XP or kitchen collections, there’s only one thing to do and that’s play. Cuisine Royale offers three game modes – solo, duo and squad. Queue times are rather long but it’s unsure if that’s indicative of the current playerbase numbers. Remember, it’s competing with a ton of more established battle royale games out … [Read more...] about Cuisine Royale 2018 Review: Is Cuisine Royale Worth Playing?
Rubber Snake Attack Instead of coming home and gaming like normal last night, I actually went out and did something sociable with actual living and breathing people! I know it is a shock to the system to fathom the ramifications of that statement. Several months ago a group from work attended the live RiffTrax showing of the Matthew Broderick Godzilla and it was an absolute blast. I have been a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 since college, and RiffTrax is essentially the same folks doing the same sort of thing… without the robots and a guy trapped on a space station construct. During that they previewed the next movie and at that point we decided that we had to attend again so we could see Anaconda… a movie that I did not remember being as cheesy as it actually was. Thankfully we learned a lot from the first time, and arrived at the theater considerably earlier. Last time none of us actually got to sit together, but … [Read more...] about Lalafell Rescue Squad
Good morning you happy people. I am mostly conscious today but feel like I am coming down with something. While it has not fully hit me yet, last night I felt relatively horrible. It is one of those mornings where I have been staring at the blank screen for ten minutes… finally comprehending that I am supposed to write something thoughtful or interesting. It is mornings like this that I question my decisions in life… and why in the hell I ever decided to do this blog every morning thing. However I shall persevere and push on… and try and be thoughtful and or interesting or at least something other than comatose. Armory I am addicted to armory systems. When I am playing a game that has them… I happily check up on literally everyone I meet just to see exactly how they are doing things. I am not a terribly competitive person by nature, but I love peering into the inner workings of other players. I have learned so much … [Read more...] about Open Data
Since the release of the Rift free to play conversion, I have had a large number of friends coming back to the game. Previously I did posted targeting the features that have been added into the game since release. This time around I will be targeting this series towards players just starting out in the game. I am going to try and assume as little prior games expertise as I can. Rift is a game full of extremely rich and complex systems, and this series of posts is an attempt to ease a new player into it. Choosing a Faction Rift at its core is a game about a world torn asunder by the violent planar tears opening across the continent and causing all manner of nasty things to spill into the world. You play the role of an ascended, essentially a being with a number of souls merged into one. The two primary factions of the game represent the struggle between religion and technology. The Defiant chose to rely on themselves and their technology to … [Read more...] about How To Rift – Character Creation
