As a longtime Star Wars fan and former Star Wars Galaxies player, I’ve known there were plenty of emulators out there ripe for playing on. The code for the game is open source. In fact, there was a brief time where I was looking to set up my own server for the game, but I just don’t have time to do that anymore. But recently, I was surprised to find out how many SWG emu servers there are – so many different servers that I’m not exactly sure which one to get into. That’s where you guys come in. Over the next few weeks, I will be jumping into Star Wars Galaxies again here for Hyperspace Beacon, but I want you to tell how to do it in the vein of our Choose My Adventure column. It’s not as if you have to religiously stick to playing one country either, playing two or three (or all five) countries is good for mixing up play styles to keep things fresh, learning about the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of planes, and allowing aircraft of one nation to repair over time while playing another. The following only covers aircraft, I’m afraid I haven’t really been keeping up with the relative strengths of tanks. The USSR If you have no strong preference then starting off with the Soviet Union … [Read more...] about A Beginner’s Guide to War Thunder – Which Country Should I Play?
Are you one of those budding bloggers who is not monetizing his blog and is skeptical of doing so? If so, I have also walked in your shoes. In the early days of my blogging career, I did not take advantage of AdSense or any other ad platform. Perhaps the reason many of us stay away from monetizing our blogs is that we are protective of our image, and we fear being judged by our readers. Me: Why? BB: Because it’s a new blog, and putting AdSense on it might make my visitors think that I blog for money. Me: Then why did you apply for AdSense when you are not planning to monetize your blog? BB: I will monetize it when I have good traffic. Me: What difference does it make whether you monetize the blog now or later? Will the perception of your readers be different at another point in time? Our conversation went on for a while and came away with a suspicion that many other bloggers share my friend’s feelings about advertising on a new blog. My question remains, why wait to … [Read more...] about Should I Add Google AdSense Ads on My New Blog?
