BUILDING: Buildings are quite small in general. Not as small as in Albion Online. Fractured is an isometric game and many buildings have to fit in one town. The house in the Syndesia building video is an average-sized building. There will always be some room between buildings, even in towns. Unclaimed city spots are haunted. It will take a group to claim them. (Unless you pledged governor or above). Buildings will have 2 floors at most. Tall buildings would have been extremely annoying because Fractured is an isometric game. The only building you can build on your personal plot is your house. The other types of buildings are tied to towns. The governor decides where the shops, etc will be built and can then assign ownership of those buildings to an other player to build it. The governor can also assign NPCs (if the town has any) to various tasks like building. You can rent out buildings to other players. You can't sell goods through a vendor in front of your house. Fraudster:a: a person who is not what he or she pretends to be :impostor; Meet the Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega+, a handheld device designed with the backing of Sir Clive Sinclair himself, and a modern representation of everyone’s favorite 80’s computer system designed by Sir Clive Sinclair. The Vega+ was crowdfunded on Indiegogo back in March 2016 to the tune of over half a million pounds, exceeding the goal at 367% with a scheduled delivery date of September 2016. As you’ve probably guessed by this article’s existence, it hasn’t shipped yet. As nature seems to demand in these stories, the actions of Retro Computers Limited and those involved are a much more interesting crapshoot than the actual product itself, which again hasn’t shipped yet. (Full disclosure: I backed the Vega+ to the tune of £110, I fully expect this fact to be used against me but in the interest of disclosure and because my name and contribution are public, I … [Read more...] about Crowdfunding Fraudsters: The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega+
It’s finally time for me talk about Project Gorgon as a released product. As you might have guessed, I was avoiding the game prior to launch. I’ve spoken out against early access a lot and have realized that, at this point in my gaming/career, playing games I’m passionate too early can be a threat to both work and play. I wanted a relationship with PG, but I didn’t want to rush into anything pre-release. I wanted it as complete as possible. MJ’s streamed it a bunch of times, including the day before launch. Eliot’s comments from his pre-release CMA feel spot on still post-release. However, as the resident old-man Asheron’s Call fan with a review copy, I think I can add a few comments about how Project Gorgon compares to AC1&2, plus how developer Eric Heimburg’s infused PG in AC-esque ways. The bad For those who might not realize this, I … [Read more...] about Impressions of Project Gorgon from an Asheron’s Call player
UX has a long history… going back way beyond the digital era. Restaurants have always been concerned about User Experience, and so have museums and hotels. The chef, the curator, the innkeeper—these people have always had a vested interest in your comfort, your enjoyment… your experience. Today, however, ‘UX’ is most often applied to software applications and websites. How easy is it to navigate a site? Is there a steep learning curve to using the site/application? How frustrating is it when the user makes an error? Is the site trustworthy? Do users find what they expect? Do they get what they need? From a visitor’s very first impression right on through to the engagement you hope they’ll pursue, every minute should be effortless. Interacting with your site/app should be pleasurable, easy, engaging, and efficient. That, in a nutshell, is ‘User Experience’ (UX). Tech changes at a lightning-fast pace. Every day, … [Read more...] about 12 Easy UX Improvements You Need to Know About
