“Today we released the first slate of content for Wild Appalachia, a free update that brings a series of new quests, features, events, crafting systems and more to Fallout 76. Players can dive in now to start a brand-new quest that will teach them to brew up tasty beverages that will help (and potentially hinder) their ability to take on the horrors of Appalachia.” Bethsoft also published a release schedule for the rest of the Wild Appalachia features and content which will be rolled out over the next few weeks and months starting on March 19th with the new Fasnacht Parade seasonal event. With only a few older free-to-play MMORPGs on its roster, Funcom’s quarterly financial statement doesn’t typically offer as much to dissect as other companies’. The crossover content revolves around a new, original quest line available to all Monster Hunter: World players who reached Hunter Rank 16 or above. Starring legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, once again voiced by Doug Cockle in the English version of the game, ‘Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest’ tasks the witcher with tracking down and dealing with a powerful force known as the Leshen. The world of Wild Terra is enshrouded in darkness as the 9.55 Halloween Update hits. The land is overflowing with evil, and pumpkins are growing with horrific speed. Players can make Jack-o’-lanterns to help dispel evil from the trees, but players should be advised to take friends. These Unholy trees will not be dispelled so easy. But defeating three waves of Infernal animals will also net players a Demonic Chest, which has a wealth of unique prizes in it. In the Events section of the Auction appeared prizes that can be obtained by exchanging them for the Brains of the zombie animals. It’s can be obtained from all cursed monsters. Those Jack-o’-lanterns can also be mounted on each other, to build poles. If the brain of cursed animals and fertilizers are added to the Jack Pillar, then in time it will turn into a Zombie Pumpkin! Heading into Steam early access today is new isometric game called Corrupted, and if it looks familiar, that’s because it’s from Juvty Worlds, which also operates PvP sandbox Wild Terra. The new game appears to utilize Wild Terra’s world and graphics; the sole user review active as I type this rather uncharitably calls it an “asset-flip” and more of a “wave defense” title than an ARPG, but it definitely takes after its MMORPG kin on the surface. For its part, Juvty says the game is a “mix of arcade, RPG and visual novel” in which you’ll “fight off the hordes of monsters and break through to the truth” and “discover new skills and improve your combat arsenal” as you cleave your way through enemies. This early access edition includes a 20-chapter campaign, multiple biomes, and a “twisted” storyline.
