It’s that special time of the year again, where the doors are opened, and brought forth are some new and exciting additions and updates to the Wizard101 universe! If you're looking for a bit of vacation fun, look no further than the Wizard101 Test Realm. The "Sizzling Summer Update," the upcoming patch showcases the Wizard City overhaul, a shiny updated new user experience, improvements to Quick Sell, and several other features that haven't yet been added but are incoming. This includes more Deckathalon fun, a new Spiral Showcase, the "Beastmoon Hunt" event and the brand new Scroll of Fortune. In short, it is jam-packed with awesome sauce! Wizard City's complete graphic overhaul is considered complete thanks to the new coat of paint on Crab Alley. It was the last zone in the starter area to be updated making the entire city is fresh and shiny new. Wizard City also has an awesome new color scheme that is well worth the time to check out on the Test Realm. The first hours of gameplay have also received a much-needed overhaul. The Wizard101 Test Realm has been updated to bring Empyrea Part 2 online so that players can head in to take the new content for a spin and give developers a hand with tracking down bugs and providing feedback. Empyrea Part 2 brings the third story arc to its "thrilling conclusion". The Test REalm is open on weekdays for all Wizards with a subscription or who have purchased Crowns in the past month. Bartleby is withering and Mellori the Raven-child struggles to hang on to life. To save them, the Wizard must embrace an ancient destiny, fight the evil schemes of Shadow, and venture to the farthest reaches of Empyrea... and beyond! There are people in Atlas who do not care for PvP. There’s no version of PvP that will make those players happy. There are also people who do like PvP… and as it turns out, there are two different versions of PvP that people want to engage in there. There’s the very large-scale version focused on groups of 200+ players, and then there’s the smaller version focused on a larger number of smaller companies topping out around 50 players. So what do you do to make PvP work best? You have systems in place for both playstyles. We feel our players are interested in, primarily, two distinctly different styles and scopes of gameplay. One group of players is interested in design focused on small to mid-sized companies (2-50 players) and another has a preference for large company-centric design (200+ players). There are lots of ways to find out, but there’s only one way to find out that involves a fun invasion for players to fight against, so you can understand why the developers are going with that option. On Saturday, August 25th, the main server is going offline at 3:30 p.m. EDT. Don’t worry, it’ll be back up at 4:00 p.m. EDT… but players will be confined to the Southern Hills region. You can bet that there’s something going on then, and you’d be right, because the city of Valus will be besieged by every malicious race on the face of the game’s planet. Lizardmen? Yes. Goblins?
