Are You Poor Or living in Poverty? This Story Will Make You Smile & Motivate

· November 5, 2014 · Leave a Comment

This story is part of our Life-hacks series and this particular answer from Amit Banerjee on Quora caught my eyes and I couldn’t stop myself from sharing this with you. There are so many things that you can learn from this long and one of the best reply I can think of. It doesn’t matter what situation you are in, always remember you are the creator of your life. Also read: After 1826 days of blogging, all I can say- Blogging is incredible It feels suffocating. I belong to a middle class family and had never seen “real” poverty during childhood. Yes, I had a Hercules bicycle. Yes I was given good education. Yes, I would go to Disney world once a year. Yes, my parents would take me to holidays. I had a TV video game and a huge collection of cartridges my mom bought for me, when I scored good marks. Then I entered college. My sister’s marriage was planned, dad bought an apartment and had to pay my fees for engineering. All three events … [Read more...] about Are You Poor Or living in Poverty? Sims 3 Saturday: RIP Sim, Survived By His 98 Children

· September 22, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Well, as you’ve probably already guessed from the title, after eight weeks of propagation madness, this will be the final installment of my blog’s Sims 3 Saturday series. As the rules state, the Family Man challenge ends when your Sim dies, and sadly (but in a not entirely unanticipated turn of events), the Grim Reaper finally got around to visiting my Sim during my last play session. Anyway, there will be time for the heartbreaking details later, but first there’s drama to be had and newborn babies to be counted. Speaking of which, thanks to a sharp-eyed reader who pointed it out to me in the comment section, I realized I made an error last week and tallied up a total of 82 for the number of children my Sim has fathered, when the real total is actually 84! At the rate my Sim breeds, I just knew I was going to make a mistake sooner or later. So, this week, when Tracy Connor gave birth to a baby boy, that actually makes 85. Tamara Donner, the new Sim who moved in down … [Read more...] about Sims 3 Saturday: RIP Sim, Survived By His 98 Children

Sims 3: “Family Man” Challenge

· July 28, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Note: One thing you have to know about me is, it is impossible for me to play Sims games “properly” like a normal person. Time for a non-MMO post. This usually happens whenever my husband goes out of town, barring me from playing online games without him due to the clauses in our Spousal Leveling Contract, leading me to seek other gaming avenues for my entertainment. Coincidentally, I’ve also been looking for an interesting yet easy single-player game to amuse me for all those times I can’t sleep after a middle-of-the-night baby feeding. Apparently Sims 3 was the answer, thanks to some recent chatter on Twitter taunting me, teasing me, tempting me ARRRGGGH! reminding me what a great game it is. Besides, every few months or so I tend to get into control freak mode and the irresistible urge to dig up my Sims and play them rises. It was time. Anyway, the last time I went full throttle on Sims 3 was probably a few years ago, when it occurred to me what an excellent … [Read more...] about Sims 3: “Family Man” Challenge

Sims 3 Saturday: An Even 50

· September 1, 2012 · Leave a Comment

It’s Saturday! Screw the pleasantries, let’s get right into our progress for the Sims 3 Family Man Challenge. When we left my Sim last week, he was the proud father of 21 children. This week, Sharla Bills gave birth to twins right off the bat, bringing our total up to 23. Ayesha Ansari (my darling, darling Ayesha) gave birth to her and my Sim’s seventh and final baby, a beautiful boy, making that 24. Oh, how I wish more than eight people can reside in a household, but I suppose the game is challenging enough as it is. I can’t imagine how much harder it would be to keep track of any more Sims than that, to make sure they all eat and sleep and go to the bathroom in time before messing themselves. Meeting Monika Morris. Alliteration is fun. Monika Morris also gave birth to twins — 26. I don’t believe we’ve met Monika on this blog yet, but she was a spirited young woman I met at a remote beach one day. I have taken to visiting community lots that … [Read more...] about Sims 3 Saturday: An Even 50

Blizzard is apparently taking measures to foster diversity and inclusion at BlizzCon 2018

· October 4, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Diversity and inclusion have been hot topics in the gaming industry for some time now, and it’s one that Blizzard plans to put front-and-center at BlizzCon 2018. In an article recently published by Polygon, Blizzard’s Diversity and Inclusion Leader Kelly Stevens and Executive Producer Saralyn Smith go into detail about the ways in which the industry giant behind World of Warcraft and Overwatch plans to encourage and celebrate diversity and individuality at its upcoming yearly convention. One of the main manifestations of Blizzard’s D&I focus is a part of BlizzCon that the studio is calling the Nexus, where up to 200 attendees at a time can gather “in an open house format” to listen to both Blizzard employees and “external speakers” host discussions that Stevens compares to TED Talks: “People can come and listen to a story related to that individual, related to diversity and inclusion in general, or at Blizzard,” she says. … [Read more...] about Blizzard is apparently taking measures to foster diversity and inclusion at BlizzCon 2018
