World of Warcraft is getting its newest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, on August 13th. We rounded up the five most prominent features and changes coming to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. Allied races Possibly the most requested feature ever in WoW. Allied races are a form of sub races coming to BFA. Traditionally Blizzard has added between 0-2 new races with each expansion. However with allied races Blizzard are adding eight new races! For the alliance you have: Void Elf, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarf and Kul Tiran Humans. The horde are getting: Nightborne, Highmountain Tauren, Zandalari Troll and Mag’har Orc. Each allied race comes with all new passive and active racials, a unique race mount, and if you level a brand new character you also get a unique cool looking transmog set! One of the most interesting things about allied races is the way you unlock them. Up until now with every expansion the new races would simply be available to play when … [Read more...] about 5 Reasons to get Hyped for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth
World of warcraft alliance races
With about a month left until World of Warcraft delivers the pre-expansion patch (according to the community’s estimation), lots of people are scrambling to finish up content and get affairs in order for the expansion. I’ve got my two main characters ready to go, but as of late, I’ve been agonizing around one big question: Should I be spending this final month whipping a Horde alt into shape? In other words, is it worth having characters in both factions these days? Every time I look at this question, I keep drawing up the same pros and cons and finding myself stalemated. Yes, it takes Syp to stalemate Syp — I am my own fiercest competition. Initially, it seems like an “other faction” alt makes a lot of sense. You can experience unique content, areas, and flavor that lies on the other side. In Battle for Azeroth, there will be initial leveling zones dedicated to a single faction (at least at the start), not to mention specific scenarios (such as the … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft: Is it worth having characters in both factions?
As we count down toward World of Warcraft’s late summer expansion, I’ve seen a lot of articles talking about what players should be doing to prepare (get normal sleep and live a normal life) and what Blizzard is doing to prepare (enlargening its bank vault to accept even more money). But what I haven’t seen as much is discussion about what people want to do when the expansion comes out. Maybe that’s because there’s still a lot of unknowns and because the answer seems obvious (level, loot, raid), but here are six objectives that I would like to accomplish during the first year of Battle for Azeroth: 1. Take my time This is always the hardest to follow, because there is such a huge race to the new endgame that it becomes easy to feel left behind and pressured to keep up. But really, with all of the new zones and quests, I want to just take my time, sightsee, get into the lore, and enjoy the journey. We’ll all be in the endgame soon enough — and … [Read more...] about 6 things I want to accomplish in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

This is the full version of entries that have been published in the last week! I just thought it might be nicer to have everything in one huge entry instead of in separate ones (either way: You can find all entries in the category labelled “rift vs. lotro vs. wow” on the right). The topic I wrote some time ago about “Rift vs. LotRO” is still getting readers almost every day. Unfortunately, it is probably not the kind of topic they were looking for. So, since I’ve played both games (at least for a little while), I thought I would make an elaborate posting about those games. I’m also going to throw in World of Warcraft because, apart from playing it as well, the big majority of MMO gamers have played the game or know something about the game, at least. :) (After starting to write this, I realised how long this entry would be in the end and decided to split it into different topics to be posted separately. So expect a posting every day for the next few … [Read more...] about Rift vs. LotRO vs. World of Warcraft – a closer look at all three MMOs (all entries in one)
