Ranked Battles and Sprints were outlined on World of Warships’ blog earlier, discussing features, rewards, and more. Described thusly, “Ranked Battles and Sprints are specific Player vs. Player battle types which have their own unique rules,” Ranked Battles contain the following features: Battles are held on same-tier ships. Your progress is designated by a number—a Rank. The higher the Rank, the better rewards you get. Players climb the ladder from their starting rank up to Rank 1. Every victory brings the victorious players a star. Collecting the required number of stars earns you the next rank. You lose a star for a defeat. As a result, you can lose ranks you've already attained, but not the rewards you earned for attaining them. Some ranks are irrevocable and impossible to lose. These provide a safety net to sustain your progress. Upon reaching Rank 1, you'll obtain the main rewards and finish the season. When I was growing up my brother was a fan of the Monster Hunter franchise; but for some reason, it didn’t click for me. I don’t know if it was the difficulty or the foreign design. When Monster Hunter World came around, almost everyone I knew was talking about it and purchasing a copy for PlayStation 4. Suddenly something clicked over-night and it became the only game I played for hours on end. Monster Hunter World’s latest expansion, Iceborne, has already brought back those endless sessions of fighting monsters back to back. advertisement The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion is a great reason to start back up with the introduction of the new Hoarfrost Reach region. The snow-covered landscape combined with new creatures around every corner is a sight to see. Except for the few areas where you have to trudge through deep snow, nobody needs those. Fortunately, most fights don’t take place in the deep snow. However, it’s frustrating … [Read more...] about Monster Hunter World Impressions
Have you ever tried your hand at ranking all of World of Warcraft’s expansions from worst to best? Sure you have, because everyone’s done that at one point or another. MMO blog Amateur Azerothian took a stab at it himself, and I guarantee you that you won’t agree with 100% of it. But it’s interesting! “Cataclysm brought a lot to Azeroth, more than most expansions and that’s why it’s ranked higher than the others. It’s not like it wasn’t without it’s faults. Hey, that kind of perspective is why it’s always a wild experience to read MMO blogs — not everyone agrees with you, and that’s OK! Contains Moderate Peril: The pros and cons of complex lore in LOTRO “Over the past twelve years Turbine and now Standing Stone Games have tapped … [Read more...] about Global Chat: Ranking World of Warcraft’s expansions
After about ten weeks on the PTR we finally 8.2 Rise of Azshara went live, and we’ve been able to take a far more comprehensive look into it. Though I’ve been participating the PTR the whole time there are a few things which surprised me in the live version (since everything wasn’t completely implemented before I stopped playing about a week before the patch). Let’s look at where 8.2 gets things right and where things are either a miss or just not quite right. There will be some spoilers because the story is a big part of this patch. Now that you’ve been warned let’s start with what’s right about 8.2. advertisement This first aspect which is right is the first storyline and that first cutscene which gets everyone into Nazjatar. I hadn’t seen it before launch, so all I knew was the Alliance is chasing the Horde ships who are headed out to the middle of the ocean because of reasons. Then Azshara does something which opens a … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft 8.2 is Here and It’s….OK?
