It’s been nearly two weeks since MMO Fallout published our piece regarding the Marvel Heroes Rebirth Indiegogo project, Marvel Heroes and the Diploma Mill of Nostalgia, and the article has garnered quite a bit of controversy by which I mean accusations of plagiarism and a demand that we link to a blog you might formally know as MMO Bomb. Now I’m not here to disparage our fellow denizens on the internet, since that’s the job for our subject of interest, but I’d just like to make a small 100% unrelated anecdote before we begin that when Johns Hopkins university measures the radiation coming off of the sun, they didn’t necessarily bounce their research off of, nor do they need to cite Aunt Sue walking outside and noticing that the sun sure is bright today. But I’m not a jealous person, and since there is the distinct possibility that an ambitious editor in chief of said website (linked above here and below mine) decided to point out to anyone who … [Read more...] about Fraudster Update: Will Adkins and the Open Letter to MMO Bomb
Why am I not earning even a penny a day? What mistakes am I making? What the hell am I doing wrong? Like thousand others bloggers, I’m striving for the same answer. I take out the laptop, sit down and look for a topic to write on. After choosing a random topic, I started writing. … [Read more...] about What am I doing wrong: Letter of a Frustrated Blogger to himself
One of the first things new bloggers ask is: How do I write a blog post? You might be tempted to just go inside of your dashboard, open the new post editor, and start writing… but there’s a lot more to writing a great blog post than that. This is where the difference between a normal blogger and an A-list blogger comes into focus. But before I tell you how to write a great blog post, let me ask you a question: What are libraries made of? Like most people, I was thinking “books”, or maybe “walls”. While I’m not sure there is an official answer to this question, the scientist’s answer was: Letters. His rationale was that books are made of sentences, sentences are made of words, and words are made of letters. This got me thinking. What are blogs made out of? Well, I’m not a scientist on National Geographic, so my answer isn’t “letters”. But I followed his same logic. A blog is made of … [Read more...] about How To Write An Excellent Blog Post with 5 Professional Tips
Yesterday’s surprise news that MMO company Trion Worlds had been sold to Gamigo was then all but confirmed by Trion’s Linda “Brasse” Carlson, who announced her departure on the RIFT forums, and by Scott Hartsman himself, who asked Twitter for help placing victims of the Trion layoffs in other companies. While the anonymous claim that as many as 85% of the studio’s 200+ employees had been abruptly laid off hasn’t been officially verified – and Trion itself has yet to respond to requests for comment – Gamigo has moved ahead with a formal press release talking up the acquisition and clarifying that it’s effectively an asset buy-up. “Hamburg, October 23, 2018 – The gamigo AG („gamigo Bond“ WKN: A2NBH2 / ISIN: SE0011614445) has acquired major assets from Trion Worlds Inc., a leading US gaming company with offices in Redwood City (California) and Austin (Texas) and has as publisher and developer of online and … [Read more...] about Gamigo formally announces the Trion Worlds buyout that manifested yesterday
